Ryan Page

Ryan Page - Just Hits

Ryan was born and bred for baseball from the start. According to Ryan’s father, baseball was the second thing he started learning, with walking being the first. The countless hours of hard work and dedication paid off throughout his career in many ways.

While attending Seneca Valley High School (Pittsburgh, P.A.), Ryan made the varsity team as a sophomore. He threw a shut out in the final game of the season against a rival high school to lead his team to the playoffs. As a senior, Ryan was named to the All Section Team, and rated as a top player in the whole Western P.A. area. He posted a 9-0 record with a 1.89 ERA in 55 innings, recording 58 strikeouts. After graduating in 2004, Ryan met Mike when he headed south to play at Liberty University, a Division 1 school in the Big South Conference. Ryan was named to the Big South All Tournament Team as a freshman. In four years as a starting pitcher, Ryan pitched his way to a 19-12 record with a career 3.4 ERA in 277.1 career innings. Throughout his four year career at Liberty, Ryan was named the Big South pitcher of the week 3 times. He was also listed as the #3 player on Baseball America’s 2005 Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League’s Top 10 Prospect List.

After completing four years at Liberty, Ryan was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 20th round of the 2008 amateur 1st year player draft. After being drafted, Ryan cruised through his first year as a pro. He went into his first off season with a 4-0 record with an astonishing 1.29 ERA. He continued to impress in 2009, finishing 1st in the organization in wins (11) and innings pitched (160). He was named Star of the Month in June of 2009 while pitching for the Dunedin Blue Jays (Advance A affiliated of the Toronto Blue Jays). Ryan stayed healthy by learning from many Big League coaches and how they emphasized injury prevention mechanics in today’s game. To close out his career, in 2011, Ryan reached as high as AA.

Ryan played one year of Independent Professional Baseball in the North American Baseball League in Hawaii, and then decided to stay involved in the game through a different perspective. Ryan spent the year on the other end of the spectrum, training and coaching kids and teams in the Pittsburgh area. Ryan also received his certification as a CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER. In November 2012, Ryan received his certification in Kettle Bell and Cardio from the National Sports Conditioning Association. This adds another element to his resume in sports science and condition. He is excited and enthusiastic to lead the Just Hits Pitching Department and put his love and knowledge of the game, passion for working with youth, and bachelor’s degree in exercise science to good use.

“Ryan Page and I have always been close friends. Because of Ryan’s likeability, bubbly personality, ability to establish trust and translate information to the kids, we have hit the jackpot acquiring him.

It is very rare to acquire an instructor with all of those characteristics and his camaraderie with the Just Hits team will be noticed by all who walk in.

I wanted to lock up Ryan for years, but he has always been busy performing for some organization; now I finally got him! His wealth of knowledge in the game surpasses many pros I played with and without any doubt in my mind; he is a HUGE asset to Just Hits from every perspective possible.

Ryan is the real deal and is in this thing for the long haul. He will lead the pitching department well, and his personal training certification is a huge bonus since he can take every facet of the body and combine it with his professional baseball instruction. We warmly welcome him aboard!” – Mike Just
